Resource Centre - Services
Services to Seniors
Services to Seniors are provided by dedicated volunteers and fee-for-service workers through the East Beaches Resource Centre.
Our goal is to look after the seniors in our community and provide assistance to the best of our ability.
If you or someone you know, has a need of which we are unaware, please let us know and we will see how we can help.

Core Services
The East Beaches Resource Centre assists in obtaining and providing the following Core Services.
Victoria Lifeline
The Golden Club/Adult Day Program
This group meets every Wednesday at the Social Scene and is led by Sherry Johnson and Jeanne Kaye. Activities include doing exercises, playing games, sharing coffee and a meal, having monthly outings, etc.
It is a relaxed pace and lots of fun. The coffee and meals are coordinated by Donna Koshelanyk and a team of volunteers who help her with food prep and kitchen support. If you are feeling "penned in" this month or would like to just get out and meet some new people, why not call Donna to find out how you can volunteer to be part of this worthwhile day. She needs occasional cooks and especially kitchen helpers. For more information, call Donna at 204-756-3390. The Golden Club features activities to promote mental and physical well being. Transportation to and from the Centre is provided by EBRC. If you would like to participate call Home Care at 204-367-5403. |
"Do You Need Foot Care?"
The feet experience more wear and tear in a lifetime than any other body part and reportedly are the most neglected part of the body. Age Concern says 1 in 3 people over 65 cannot cut their own toe nails. This leads to risks like ingrown toenails, fungal infection, thickening of the toenail, and over grown toenails. Foot Care Nurses can provide education specific to prevention, diagnosis and management of common foot problems.
If you need to find a foot care nurse or need more information call Nancy at the Centre on Monday, Wednesday or Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm at (204) 756-6471. We are here to help you! |
